Cheesy, creamy, and oh-so dreamy, this recipe is sure to delight at breakfast, lunch, dinner, or whenever you desire the taste of Southern charm.
6 cups of water
2 cups of half and half
1 cup heavy whipping cream
2 teaspoons of salt
1/2 teaspoons of white pepper
2 cups of quick cooking grits
1 cup of white cheddar cheese, grated
4 Tablespoons of butter, cubed
In large pot, over high heat, combine water, half and half, salt & pepper and bring to a boil. Slowly pour in grits, whisking constantly. Reduce heat to low and cook for 10 minutes, whisking often.
Add cheese and heavy whipping cream.* Turn off heat and rest for 5 minutes. Whisk in butter.
* For a spicier alternative, add 1 can Rotel or green chiles at this step.
